Kitchen Pot Warmer

Hi, I am Honey Tomas. I am a 10th grade student at Dalton High School. I am in my second year of engineering. For this contest my concept is going to provide a warmer specifically made for pots and pans. When cooking big meals or cooking earlier in the day it would be convenient to have something that keeps your food warm while still in the cooking pot. However, there is no warmer hot enough or wide another to keep a whole pot of food warm. My pot warmer is specifically designed to hold and keep pots warm. This is my solution.

Supplies

The pot warmer will be made of steel. The top of the warmer is what will be mainly heated and is where the pot(s) will go. The warmer will also run off of electricity and will have a cord that can be plugged into the wall. Lastly the pot warmer will be automatically timed to shut off after around 6 hours. Overall the size of the warmer is about 14x22 inches and is also about 4 inches tall.

Research

There are various types of warmers. One type my warmer is inspired by is a regular food warmer. As it also runs on electricity and can also have its temperature adjusted. It has a flat top and for convenient to use. I also had to research the parts for my design and decide how it would be assembled. Which is why I went with a flat top overall for easy use and a small knob to adjust temperature quickly.

These sides are the outsides of the warmer. These parts create the overall shape of the warmer and provide structure for the design. The slides and front have a slight slant while the back is completely flat.

The Top

This is the top of the warmer. This piece is what is mainly heated and is designed to hold the pots. It is also completely flat and wide for the pots.

The Temperature Knob

This is the knob that controls the temperature for the warmer. It is a circular shape and can turn clockwise.

On and Off Switch

The on and off switch controls whether the warmer is off or on. It is almost like a rectangle but has a dent which separates off and on.
