Presented here are digital photographic references of my experience working with various techniques used to cast forms in glass using a kiln in conjunction with a temperature controller interface. A program is researched and written in regards to what form and mold type is intended to be cast. This program is then imputed into the kilns temperature controller system and the program is started to enable an almost fully automated casting process.

I feel fortunate to have had some prior experience in casting techniques; however so casting glass is no simple matter. I learned a great deal about the temperance of glass within the casting process. You can not argue with the glass, instead you must listen to it so in that you can know what it will and will not do. Being able to practice techniques such as sand casting, and hot casting unveiled a certain mystery that now is a stranger no more. these factors in conjunction with practicing various mold making designs including open face molds, 2 part molds, silicone and rubber molding as well as making wax forms has greatly widened my horizons and expanded my expertise in the realm of working with glass.

Below is a visual documentation of my experience in kiln forming glass encompassing the previously stated mold making techniques as well as some of my own experimentation using these concepts. This publication is meant to provide a refrence to my experience and to also open a free discussion about casting and working with glass in general.
