Kids Stationary Organizer

Being a mother of two school going kids, sorting their stationary is one of the major task. I want to engage my kids to organize themselves in a fun way. I saw some unused mason glass jars in the Kitchen and thought of using them as organizer. Unlike regular cylinders and cubes I wanted to make good use of their curves and decided to retain them as it is in the final product. Using bright colors on kids desk was my idea. Used easily available multi color woolen yarns which looks good and makes them safe to use.

Collect Mason Jars

Collect required number of mason jars. Select sizes and height depending on the type of stationary to be used.

Cleaning

Soak the Jars in warm water for about an Hour and peel the labels and clean the jars. Wipe them from inside and outside. If you have new jars you can make sure they are unlabeled and tidy.

Select Color Codes

Selecting color codes makes easier for kids to identify jars and using them. Use different shades of a color on each Jar. Here I've used woolen yarn alternatively can use color ribbons, color twain.

Rolling

Apply a thin layer of Glue on the bottle and roll the yarn around the bottle to make a pattern. Roll till the neck. If you wish to screw the cap discard neck. Here yarn rolled only one layer, for additional safety or different look you can do multiple layers.

Finishing

When all the bottles are done I prefer to add my kids favorite characters on to it for attraction. Now the kids stationary organizer is ready to use. Happy organizing, kids love to use by them selves.
