Key Hanger

A simple and easy way to make a key hanger for the most used keys in your home.

• A metal tube of some sort, anything works but I use a 1/2" x 2" type M copper tube
• 18 gauge copper wire (any mater
• Pliers to bend the wires
• Paint/spray paint of your choice (optional)
• Old knobs or bolts that will fit into the tube.

Wrap the wire around the pipe 4 times, making sure the wire is long enough to form a proper hook once it is curled up. With the extra wire that is dangling off the pipe, start to wrap it around itself to create a coil.

Once you have finished coiling the wire, straighten the coil out and turn it upwards to make the hook shape. Repeat steps 1-2 for as many hooks as you need, I made 4.

Using hot glue, glue a circle around the base of the knob. Place the knob inside the metal tubing to close off both sides of the tube, and to insure none of the hooks slide off.

The hooks along the tube may move around or not depending on how tight you tied them around while making the hooks. To make sure the hooks don't move, use the wire and wrap it around the tube as shown in the picture. Once you reach one of the hooks, take the wire and insert it through one of the loops along the bottom of the tube where the hook starts, wrap it twice around the loop, and coil back onto the tube. Do this till all the hooks have had the wire loop through them and the wire reaches the end of the tube.

The last real building step! Using the same method as what was used for the hooks, coil your wire. Once the wire has been coiled, form a hoop shape that will rest on pins/nails that the key hanger will hang from (any shape that closes works, I made a hoop and then closed the extra wire off by tying it around the hoop.)

Your key hanger is now done! Hang it up on nails or pins and enjoy easy access to your most important keys,
