Kayak Storage Rack
I live in an apartment and needed a place to store my kayak. One wall in my bedroom is 11' long which will just fit my 10' kayak. I needed a custom stand, so I decided to build one with PVC pipes.
Step 1: Design
I looked at different concepts online. I decided on something similar to this:

I designed the prototype in 3DS Max using real measurements.
The final measurements are 3' tall x x 2' deep x 4' wide (plus abour 1.5' balance on each side.)
Step 2: PVC Cuts
I bought 1.5" PVC and cut it down:
3 - 4' for width
2 - 3' for back supports
2 - 2' for depth
2 - 1.5' for front support
2 - 1.5' for back side balance
4 - 4-Way Tee
2 - 90° angle
Step 3: Assembling the Frame
Step 4: Adding Supports
I added double coat hooks to each vertical pipe, wrapped a tie down strap with a pool noodle, and looped it into the hooks. I used zip-ties to keep the pool noodle in place.
Step 5: Final Test
The kayak rests on the pool noodle, and the tie down strap can be used to secure it.
Works perfectly and can be disassembled and re-assembled when I move.
