Calculations and Drinking Water
- Health authorities commonly recommend eight 8-ounce glasses, which equals about 2 liters, or half a gallon
- The internal silver impregnated ceramic cartridge is designed to filter up to 13,000 gallons of water.
- The average person drinks somewhere around 1.9 Liters a day = roughly 71 years’ worth of drinking water
- Average cost is approximately $1.22 per gallon of drinking water
Let's calculate with a cheaper price: 13000 gallons x $1 = $13000
In light of this then the price ratio of the Katadyn starts looking good especially since there is no way anyone can transport 13000 gallons of water with them :-)
