K'Nex Smooth Ball Path 03:JOR
This is my third posted K'Nex smooth ball path. This is my favorite path. It uses fewer pieces to cover a distance. I don't remember where I saw this. I would be happy to give credit if someone knows where it came from.
The Good:
- Less pieces
- K'Nex balls roll smoothly over the seams
The Bad:
- Not easy to turn a corner
This can be made with any length of rods. When made with yellow rods, two sections are about 8 5/8 inches long or about 22 centimeters.
The length of any segment can be changed by simply changing the three rods that connect it. Segments of differing lengths can be attached together.
Supplies
Parts used: 6 yellow rods, 4 green rods, 4 yellow connectors, 4 purple connectors.
Make Purple Assemblies
Connect the pairs of purple connectors. Add the green rods to one end of each assembly. Add the yellow connectors to assembly. This should make a "V" shape.
Expand Purple Assemblies
Add the yellow rods to one end of the purple assemblies. This completes each segment.
Finish the Path
Attach each assembly together. This should complete this smooth path. Rolling a K'Nex ball on this path should show how smooth it goes.
Supporting this can be done from above or below. If above, change a pair of yellow connectors for white. If below, change one or both purple connectors for blue.
Enjoy your smooth rolling!
