~This part can be a different color than the body of your stocking! It can be any color you would like or make your whole stocking the same! I chose White.

~Start with making a magic circle. Once you have made the magic circle, CH 1 and start with ROW 1.

ROW 1 - Make 8 HDC, join with SLIP ST to 1st HDC and CH 1

ROW 2 - Make 2 HDC into each ST, join with a SLIP ST and CH 1

ROW 3 - Into the first ST make 1 HDC,  than make 2 HDC into the next ST. Repeat all the way around. Join with a SLIP ST and CH 1.

The Toe - Part 2

~Keep continuing the toe

ROW 4 - Into the first 2 STs make 1 HDC, than make 2 HDC into the next ST Repeat all the way around. Join with a SLIP ST and CH 1.

ROW 5 - Into the first 3 STs make 1 HDC,  than make 2 HDC into the next ST. Repeat all the way around. Join with a SLIP ST and CH 1.

ROW 6 - Into each ST, make 1 HDC.
On last ST, join with next color for the body of your stocking and CH 2. ( Again optional with the color you would want or stay the same color!)

The Body - Part 1

~Now continue the rows for the body.

ROW 7 - With your new or the same color, make 1 DC into each ST all the way around. Join with a SLIP ST and CH 2. (Picture one)

~Before starting the next row, cut and tie off the string for the toe color. Sew it in with your yarn needle in now or at the end.

ROW 8 - Into the first ST make 1 DC, than make 1 FPDC into the next ST. Repeat all the way around. Join with a SLIP ST and CH 2.

ROW 9 - Into the first ST make 1 FPDC, than make 1 DC into the next ST. Repeat all the way around. Join with a SLIP ST and CH 2.

~Repeat ROWS 8 &9 until you reach Row 17.

~When you finish row 17, leave the yarn for the rest body. DO NOT CUT! This is what I did if you want to do the same : place the rest of the yarn color for the body inside the stocking so it is out of the way for now. (See last picture)

~To start the heel, connect new color or same (your choice) to the 11th ST of ROW 17 with a CH 1.

ROW 1 -  Make 1 SC into that same ST as the CH 1 and continue 1 SC into each ST until you reach 20 STs across . CH 1 and turn.

ROW 2 - Join together the first 2 STs by making 1 SC and continue 1 SC into each ST until you reach the last 2 STs. Join together the last 2 STs with 1 SC. CH 1 and turn.

~Repeat  ROW 2 for ROWS 3-8 until there are 6 STs left.

ROW 9 - Into the first ST, make 2 SC and continue 1 SC into each ST until you reach the last ST. Make 2 SC into the last ST. CH 1 and turn. In the pictures 6 and 7 you will see the row start to go over row 8. That's how you know you've got it!

~Repeat ROW 9 for ROWS 10-15 until there are 20 STs left.

The Heel - Part 2

~Before you cut the yarn and tie off, leave about a 10" tail.
~Fold the flap inside out so its on the outside of the stocking.
~With the remaining yarn, sew up the sides using the Whip Stich. End with a knot and cut.
~Attach yarn to other side of the bottom corner and repeat.
~After the sides are together, flip the heel back inside the right way, than fold in half to make it look like a stocking.

~Now continue with the body with ROW 18.

ROW 18 - CH 2 than into the first ST and make 1 DC, than make 1 FPDC into the next ST. Repeat 4 times.

~ When you get next to the heel of the stocking, the next ST will be a little funky in order to close a gap.

This is what you will do:

~ Yarn over and go thru the first ST where the heel connects to the body. Yarn over again and pull thru making a loop.

~Go thru the top ST of the heel, yarn over and pull thru making another loop.

~Now with 4 loops on your hook, yarn over and go thru 3 loops. Repeat going thru 2 loops. Now we have closed that gap.

~Keep continuing ROW 18 by make 1 DC into  the next 18 STs until you reach the end of the heel.

Too close this next gap:

~Yarn over, go thru the last ST of the heel.
Yarn over again and pull thru making another loop.

~Go thru the first ST that connects the body and heel on ROW 17, yarn over and pull up another loop

~Now with 4 loops on your hook, yarn over and go thru 3 loops. Repeat going thru 2 loops. Now we have closed that gap again.

~To finish up ROW 18, make 1 DC than 1 FPDC. Repeat 4 times. Join together and chain 2.

The Body - Part 3

20220114_102654.jpg
ROW 19 - Into the first ST make 1 FPDC, than make 1DC into the next ST. Repeat all the way around. Join with a SLIP ST and CH 2.

ROW 20 - Into the first ST make 1 DC, than make 1FPDC into the next ST. Repeat all the way around. Join with a SLIP ST and CH 2.

Repeat Rows 19 & 20 until you reach ROW 32. Tie off and cut enough to weave in.

~To start your cuff, connect new color or the same ( your choice) to the end the last ST of ROW 32. If your not changing colors just finish with same color.

ROW 1 - CH 13 to start
~Continue working  back down the chain by working 1 SC into the 2nd chain from your hook and than 1 SC into each next ST.

~To connect to the body, skip the first ST you see on ROW 32 and SLIP ST into the next and CH 1.

ROW 2 - Into the back loop of your  next ST, make 1 SC  into each ST across. CH 1 and turn.

ROW 3 - Into each ST, make 1 SC as normal all the way down. Connect to the body again by skipping the first ST you see on ROW 32 and SLIP ST into the next and CH 1 and turn.

Repeat ROWS 2 & 3 until you reach R0W 39

~To finish ROW 39, connect to the body one last time by skipping the next ST and make a SLIP ST into the first ST of the cuff we used to join to the body. CH 1 and turn to attach ends.

~Make 1 SLIP ST all the way up each stich of both rows, using the back loop only on ROW 39 ONLY!

~When finished, tie off the yarn and cut with a tail long enough to weave in.
~Fold cuff over the body and straighten out.

The Hanging Loop (Optional)

~Make the cuff fold over a little longer so the body startes to show at the top. In the left Corner or wherever you would like, attach yarn with a slip knot and CH 12.

~Going back to the same ST you attached to, make a SLIP ST and CH 1. Cut yarn, tie off and straighten out the cuff.

~You can go ahead and weave in all the ends from the entire stocking or weave as you make it.
