a DIY Airplane transmitter emulating a real RC transmitter. To play with Drone simulation programs

Supplies

I have decided to do this joystick because of this video.

the main items needed are two (analog stick potentiometer) and an arduino(I have used nano)

this is the circuit diagram I build and the back of the nano transmitter circuit.

I have disassembled transmitter to salvage the (joystick potentiometer/ analog stick potentiometer)

CNC Engraving the Circuit

I CNC engraved a copper plated prototyping board with a circuit to connect the (joystick potentiometers/ analog stick potentiometers) to Arduino nano.

size comparison with dx5e.png

I then 3d modeled an enclosure that house the copper board, the Arduino nano and (joystick potentiometers/ analog stick potentiometers) inspired by the width and proportions of the spectrum dx5 transmitter
