Jet Boil Hanging Kit

This is a cheap Hanging kit Mod for the Jet Boil, or any other stove which the pot and stove can be attached together.
It's pretty simple, so i'll let the pictures explain it.

Tools and Materials
You need most of the items below, the rubber tape, and aluminium can are optional, and a knife, second pair of pliers and wire cutters could also be useful.
A (bench) Drill and a 3mm diameter bit are needed if you want to better secure the burner to the pot, (which i would recommend to avoid the burner falling off!).

Hanging Kit
With the 3 cable ties put together as shown, and then make sure you tighten each on the same, ie count the number of clicks on each cable tie. This ensures that the three wires later on are all at 120 degrees from each other. Keep tightening so that the cable ties are snug around the top of the pot (but NOT too tight). This means the kit can be taken on and off, (with the help of screw driver, or some other lever).
Chop three lengths of brass wire, and twist them onto the cable ties at one end. At the other end arrange as in the photo. Play about with the lengths till the stoves hangs right.

Stove Pin
To stop the burner and canister falling off accidentally (and burning you and everything else), drill a 3mm diameter hole through the bottom of the pot and the top of the burner (see picture).
IMPORTANT: Make sure you the pot is twisted into the locked position before you drill the hole though the two parts, (drill at the same time so the hole lines up perfectly).
IMPORTANT: Drill the hole above the gas control, if you want to add the wind shield later on.
If you cant separate them after drilling, don't worry, it is just the burr from the drill hole, twist firmly to separate. File / debur the holes.
For the pin cut a length of brake cable. Try to do this slowly and neatly so to not fray the ends too much. Use scissors and a knife to cut of the plastic from a terminal block, we only want the metal bit inside. Bend to look like the photo, and screw tight.
You might have to play around a bit with some pliers at the pin end to get a good fit, but it becomes very secure when you get it right.
Use some brass wire to create a 'keeper' cable so the pin can't be dropped or lost. If you have some self amalgamating rubber tape to hand, then wrap the twists to keep them tidy.

Wind Shield
This step is simple, cheap, and for only 6 grams extra weight, well worth doing.
Carefully cut the top and bottom off your can, to be left with a cylinder, open up length ways. Trim 1mm all the way round to remove any sharp edges, round off the corners.
The can lives under the neoprene sleeve when it's not windy / not in use. Pull it down when it's really bad weather!

Finished!
The kit stores nicely in the top (or bottom) of the Jet Boil.
I wasn't sure how strong the brass wire was. To find out, I hung 5kg of water from it. I didn't bother testing this any further, as this is more than strong enough!
