Jeep Willy's 3D Model
I made this jeep as an inspiration of the Jeep Willy's from World War 2.
Supplies
Supplies needed for this car is patience since there are many cut pieces to make the shapes needed, you will also need TinkerCAD open.
Making the Front
- First make the rounded rectangle and then duplicate it 7 times or press Ctrl + D seven times too, follow the format provided in the picture.
- After that get the Torus shape and copy it twice, follow the design format and place them as you see in the picture.
- Make sure the pieces are in Hole mode.
- Group the front and the hole pieces to make the grilled shape.
- You now have the front of the Jeep.
Body of the Car
This is the body of the car which will be where we will place most of the other objects such as seats and wheels
- Make the base using the dimensions, 66 mm to 118.21.
- Put the walls and arcs with the dimensions and line it up with the base. When done duplicate the walls to the other side.
- Lastly make the back using the showed dimensions and line it up with the body.
Finishing Touches for the Body.
This part of the car was just for better looks and to look more like the real thing.
- For the Window frame I took a box and stretched it out thin, put it on the back edges of the front of the car and duplicate to the next edge. I later duplicated the same rectangle to keep the dimensions, put the rectangle on the top face of the rectangle and stretch it out to the next leg, you now have window frames. This is optional but I made the legs a bit slanted just for a better look.
- To make the doors rounded I took the round roof object and compared to the door's length, after that just put it on top of the doors.
- To make the the seats I took the already existing seats and placed them there. Take the Large Seat found on the first page of "Featured collections" tab, I cut out the edges since the doors are already rounded. Then I took the "Middle seats" found on the same tab and put it in front of the last bench.
- For the hardest part now is to make the fender since it requires the most steps take the dimensions I showed you, make sure the height it 37.84. Duplicate the piece and place is 3 mm down, make the bottom shape the cutting piece and proceed to group both objects. Make sure the bottom edges of the fender is touching the vertex of the base and duplicate for all of where the wheels are going to be. For the front fender I made it shorted so I could make the car smaller, make the cut with a rectangle right where the angle of the hexagon goes plane and duplicate to the next side.
The Wheels
Now here comes the hardest part that was for me to make the wheels functional and to fit in the car.
- So I made the first hole in the front 10.5 mm to the side and 3 mm up, the dimensions are listed in the picture.
- I duplicated the first object and scaled it down to 4 mm wide and 86 mm long to fit both wheels.
- I made two types of wheels the ones that if printed will have to be slid on and the other which is already grouped with the cylinder. Follow the picture for the dimensions.
- Duplicate the all the objects mentioned in this step to the back fender too. Make sure the cylinder that will hold the wheel is split evenly in both sides to fit both wheels.
DONE!
When you are done with the Jeep it will look something like the picture above if the steps were followed right. You can now change the colors to whatever you want, and you can group all of the objects so the cutting tools do their job.
