Jeans Fix!
Hello!
I would like to try and show you how to fix your torn jeans. Also how to fray them afterwards.
We're fixing the tear on the upper left hand side, but only the bottom part. We are also fixing this by sewing.
What you need:
Your jeans with a torn (obviously)
A needle and a string ready to sew
Scissors
Cut the Edges
It's very important to cut the edges of the torn part to make everything cleaner. It facilitates the work load, and it makes everything quicker because you don't waste time dealing with problems like your string getting stuck with other strings, etc. I think it is vital for time.
Take this picture as an example. This picture is only missing the bottom part strings to be completely clean.
Flip Them
Flip your pair of jeans inside out. You will operate like this, and this will allow you to make your torn not noticeable in the first place. What this does in other words, is hide the fact that the jeans were ever torn.
Start Sewing
This part may seem a bit tricky, but it's not.
When you have your needle with your string attached to it, you insert the needle a bit on the bottom side of the torn, and a little bit to the right or left. You will continue inserting the needle on the opposite side and make sure it is horizontally the same. What I mean by this is that you need to insert the needle on one end, but not exactly on the torn itself, a little bit to a side, and then continue by going up. When you reach the end of the torn, you cut the string.
Look for Improvements
After you're done, flip them. This will give you a look at your work and what you can improve. It doesn't need to be perfect, but if you feel you can improve something, do so. You can take another string and attach it to your needle, and sew that specific part you feel needs improvement.
Fray
