Jeanette's Display Cage
Step 1
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS FOR BOOKCASE CAGE
With slide out tray
I have marked the Top piece “Front” and the bottom piece is marked on the underneath where panel “A” goes. The Panels also are marked on the Top with the letters A, B, C, and D. The bottom of the panel is the end with the wider (seed guard) piece of wood, except for panel “D” which does not attach to the bottom base. It sits above the slideout drawer.
First, attach all Plexiglas to the corresponding panels. The tape is on the side of the plexi that faces the inside of the cage and is at the top of that piece. Use the small black screws supplied and attach the plexi to the predrilled holes in the wood panels. Just tighten snug, don’t overtighten or the plexi might crack.
You can attach the casters to the bottom using the short black screws.

You can attach the casters to the bottom using the short black screws.
Now, start with the “A” panel and attach it to the back of the bottom piece. Two long (2”) screws (supplied) hold it in place from the bottom through the predrilled holes.
Then attach panel “B” to the right (looking at the cage from the front) side of the cage. Use the 2 inch screws like you did with Panel A. Then attach Panel B to Panel “A” using 1 5/8” screws as shown in the door frame.
Continue with panel “C” on the left side.
Panels “B” and “C” attach to panel “A” with 1 5/8” screws halfway up and at the top of the side panels.
Panels “B” and “C” attach to panel “A” with 1 5/8” screws halfway up and at the top of the side panels.
Now you can slide the drawer in. Any adjustments in the position of the side panels to ensure the drawer slides easily can be done now.
Front Panel “D” attaches to panels “B” and “C” using 1 5/8” screws from inside the side panels using the predrilled holes. Make sure the top of the panel is matched up to the tops of the side panels. You can use the plexiglass scraps I supplied to space the panel on top of the drawer.
Finally, fit the top piece where it is marked “front” to line up with panel “D” and attach with 1 ¼” screws. These screws attach to the top crossbar of the four panels.
Then find the front edge of the Crown Moulding and attach to the top with 1 ¼” screws.
Then attach the feeders and perches. Use the wingnuts and flat washers to attach perches. Use the supplies hardware to attach the feeders. To attach the bottom perch, you will have to slightly push the plexiglass outwards to avoid scratching the acrylic.
