James Develin Eco-Gym

Screenshot (1).jpg

Hi, my name is Keegan! I'm a 15 year old high school student in Alberta, Canada. I thought it would be fun to enter into this contest because I am interested in 3D modelling.

The gym I have designed is completely gender-neutral, as I am transgender, and I wanted to create an accepting space for all.

I have also designed this gym to be accessible to wheelchair users, with wheelchair treadmills and accessible bathroom stalls.

I hope you enjoy!

First, some pictures of the full gym model. I've included screenshots that show the exterior design of the gym.

The Roof

Screenshot (4).jpg

This roof is covered completely in solar panels, taking in as much solar energy as possible to power the gym. The power will be used for any in-gym lights, powered work out equipment, and the reception computer to track memberships as well as sign people in and out.

Outdoor Area

Screenshot (7).jpg

The outdoor area includes some trees, planting gardens, and a climbing area for children as well as people that would like to work on their arm and grip strength. The planting gardens are beneficial because crops can be grown and served to the gym users as a healthy alternative to having vending machines.

Reception

This reception desk is designed to be simple yet effective. It is made up of a desk, computer, and chair. This computer can be used to sign people up for memberships, as well as signing the members in and out. This is important to track, especially because of the restrictions of the pandemic.

Change Room

Screenshot (8).jpg

This room is designed to be minimal and give enough space for people to not feel claustrophobic. The room has two walls of lockers and a pride flag outside of it to show that this gym supports all identities.

Bathroom

Screenshot (9).jpg

This bathroom includes three stalls, three sinks, and a garbage can. One out of the three stalls is larger, and made to be wheelchair accessible.

Wheelchair Treadmills

Screenshot (10).jpg

There are two treadmills in my gym made for wheelchair users.

Treadmills

These are treadmills made for able-bodied people to use. There are three to use.

Stationary Bikes

Three bikes are available to use in this gym. They can also be hooked up to generate power.

Dumbbells and Weights

This area is accessible to everyone who would like to use it. It includes a few benches, dumbbells, and weights.
