James Develin Designing a Gym #2

Hello everyone.

In this contest, I refined my ideas to add more access to the handicapped, more green-energy efficient, and friendly to the community. I hope you enjoy and if you haven't seen my first design, it is very important that you read it before you read this instructable so that you are able to understand the layout of everything. The Roof/Light

The roof is comprised of solar panels. This would drastically reduce the amount of money spent on electricity and is a green energy source. The solar panels would move with the sun like sunflowers do in order to produce the most electricity possible.

The building was already comprised of mostly glass. This was to reduce the amount of money spent on lighting the building by providing natural sunlight. It also provides vitamin D to the people in the gym which has many health benefits.

Accessibility

Giving access to the handicapped is also very important. To solve this problem elevators have been built to get to the second floor and to get to where the rock walls are located.

Another needed access point is the pool. To solve this problem, I made a pool lift. This gives disabled people to enter the swimming pool safer than doing it manually by crawling.

Environment Substainability

To take care of the ecosystem, I wanted to implement an outdoor track. This outdoor track would be rugged and attempt to stimulate a trail. It would also have trees growing around it. I added this because the ecosystem is being destroyed when a building is assembled and this was the best alternative. The trails allow people to walk, run and even bike outside and in nature without having to go extremely far.
