Jamaican Tropical Iced Tea
Goes Well with Rum !
This is simply a Light, Balanced, Drink that goes well with any Rich tasting food. It Really helps to Cleanse your Taste-Buds While you Enjoy a meal (Like Jerk Chicken Sandwiches)
If you want the best Bang for you Effort be sure to use a Strong Ginger-Ale like Reed's. You can find it in the organic section.
Ginger-Ale Ice Cubes
These are Entirely Optional.
They slowly change the Flavor of the drink as they Melt !
Take one of the bottle of Ginger-Ale and pour it into a bowl. Give it a good Whisk to remove the Carbonation. You can Skip this step if you don't mind the Co2 bubbles freezing at the bottom of the cubes. It makes a really cool pattern :)
Feel free to add some Citrus Zest or even food coloring to make them look Unique!
Then simply pour it into Ice cube trays and let freeze overnight.
Brew Tea
Start by Boiling 1L (1Pint) of water. Use some of it to preheat the Teapot or Jar that you are brewing in.
You need to Preheat the Pot, or the Heat lost to heating up the cold pot will effect how the tea is brewed.
This needs to be strong because it will only make up 1/3 of the Mix. I used 4 tea bags in 3 cups of water. Let brew for 4-5 min, Drain the tea bags (without squeezing them) and let cool to room temperature before you store in the fridge to cool it down further.
Lemonade
Just some Nice, Light, Lemonade.
- 3 Cups cold water
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup lemon Juice
Mix it up and store in the fridge to get Nice and Cold!
Fruit Juice and Ginger-Ale
Grab some Mango or Peach Juice and let it Chill out in the Fridge. Mix 3 Cups of it into the Lemonade and the Tea Just before you serve it.
Add your Ginger-Ale Ice cubes to the glasses and garnish with a lemon slice.
Fill the glasses 3/4 full with the Tropical Iced Tea. and top with the second (or Third) bottle of Chilled Ginger-Ale.
Then sit back and Enjoy !
