Jake's Omelette.

Making a 3-egg omelette, Jake's way.

Supplies

3 eggs (from your own chickens or from the store)

Butter

Spices (personal preferance)

Step 1: Gather Your Eggs

The first thing you'll want to do is select the eggs. In this example, I'm using fresh eggs from our 3 chickens.

Step 2: Turn on the Stove.

I usually set my burner to a level 5 (medium) while making an omelette.

Step 3: Crack Your Eggs and Put Them in the Pan.

Crack your eggs on a flat surface (not again the pan!) to get an even break. Then, instead of putting them in a bowl to mix, place the yoke directly into the pan.

Step 4: Mix!

Use a spatula and mix the eggs together in the pan. Don't worry about making it consistent or even, just mix!

Step 5: Add Spices!

I typically add pepper and Frank's Red Hot. It's entirely up to you regarding what you add, but now, while the omelette is cooking, is the time you want to add your flavors. This will allow the flavors to embed within the egg instead of simply being placed on top of the omelette.

Step 6: Flip!

Now, carefully, you'll want to flip your omelette over so the other side can cook for a minute or two.

Step 7: Fold and Serve.

Once you've cooked the opposite side for 1-2 minutes, you'll take the pan and place it near the plate you're serving on. Start to lay the omelette on the plate. Once half of the omelette is on the plate, use the spatula to fold over the remainder of the omelette.
