JC-58 is a loyal Jedi Companion droid designed to assist the Jedi on their missions. JC-58 latches onto a Jedi's utility belt for safe and easy storage while not in use. To assist a Jedi, JC-58 has a high powered flashlight and holocron projector, as well as a disk drive. There are also spaces to store an A99 Aquata Breather, a Hush-98 Comlink, and an Imagecaster. Compartments on the top of JC-58 can hold other assorted tools as well. Of course, JC-58 also has convenient and customizable lightsaber storage, depending on the size of the users lightsaber.
Although JC-58 droids are sometimes known to have a strong personality, you can always count on your JC-58 to be a trustworthy and helpful companion. With a myriad of helpful tools and a highly compact form, JC-58 droids are perfect for any high-stake Jedi assignment.
The Star Wars prequel trilogy has always been my favorite and I wanted to design a droid that would be specifically helpful to Jedi. I wanted to add a level of personality and cuteness with a detailed face that would also be functional, like R2D2 and BB8. I added a personal touch to this model of JC-58 with his purple and yellow colors. I became interested in engineering and specifically 3D modeling through FIRST robotics, and in college, I continued with the program through mentoring (wait for it) a purple and yellow team :). I came up with the idea for JC-58 after thinking about what kind of droid would be helpful in the pits at a FIRST Robotics Competition. Maybe next year I'll print one to join me at competition!
