Iron-On Patches? Phooey!

I didn't like wearing Toughskins when I was a kid, but I didn't really know anything back then. Especially how fast a pair of non-Toughskin pants can get holes in the knees.
I thought I would be all smarty-pants (pun intended) and put some patches on the knees of my holey trousers in order to get a few more miles out of them.
Sewing patches seemed like too much of a hassle. That's when I got me some iron-on patches.
I ironed on the patches, and all was well in the world.
Until I washed the pants. Stupid iron-on patches! [shakes fist in the air]
I Am Not Iron-On Man

See how unconventional I was by putting the iron-on patches diagonally? That is so punk rock!
Actually, half peeled off iron-on patches are probably more punk rock, but I'm more interested in function over form when it comes to pants-that-are-worn-whilst-doing-projects.
Turning It Up a Notch

Something had to be done.
I still wasn't in the mood to sew on any patches; I didn't want to sew on any stinking patches!
Bring Out the Big Guns

Obviously, the solution to the problem of weak iron-patch glue is to put on more/better glue!
... the Broken Trim on Any Car

The end result? Those iron-on patches have been upgraded to glued-on patches.
And, not surprisingly, the glued-on patches survived the laundry.
Hooray for hot glue guns!
