The following is a recipe for a delicious snack known as Irish Soda Bread. It requires very simple ingredients that are easy to find as well as an easy baking process. The following steps will show you the ingredients and the steps.

Ingredients

The following is a list of ingredients with their measurements:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup margarine (softened)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup butter (melted)
- 1/4 cup buttermilk

Baking Process

Step 1: Lightly grease a large baking sheet.
Step 2: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F
Step 3: In a big enough bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt and margarine.
Step 4: Stir 1 cup of buttermilk and egg into the bowl. (This should result in a dough substance.)
Step 5: Place the dough on a floured and "message" it gently.
Step 6: Shape the dough to make it round and place it on the baking sheet.
Step 7: In a smaller bowl, mix the 1/4 cup buttermilk and 1/4 cup melt butter and brush the mixture onto the dough.
Step 8: Cut an "X" into the top of the dough to allow the middle to cook better.
Step 9: Place the dough into the oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes (or until a toothpick can be inserted and taken out cleanly).
Optional Step: While baking, you may continue with the brushing on of the butter milk and butter mixture every 10 to 15 minutes.

When you have taken the bread out of the oven test it with a toothpick to ensure that it has cook all the way through. Place it on a plate and dig in!
