Instead of buying an expensive dock for my car, I decided to make my own. I already have a charger/amfm transmitter, all I needed was the holder. A new law hawaii makes it illegal to have a cellphone in your hand while driving, this is my solution. With a new job coming up that will involve a lot of driving, I figure it would be nice to look at the map while kind of looking at the road.

Materials:

Clothes pin
L bracket
2 Screws or super glue
Velcro

Optional Materials
Small metal plate + nut and bolt
Drill + Bits
Screwdriver

'ibles that were drew from:
1st for clip 2nd for velcro

Pilot Holes/Super Glue

This step can be skipped if you use super glue, but what the heck, I had the tools. Take apart clothes pin if you're gonna drill, make sure clothes pin doesnt go past the L bracket or itll hit the bottom of the phone.

Bend and Add Metal Plate

Bend to desired angle. I figured it would be better to add a plate for more surface area.

Add Velcro

Add velcro. I decided to use velcro, even though gluing the case to the dock would be sturdier. It could go straight to the phone, but thats no good, and I always drop my phone.

Finish

I'll probably try and make it more sturdy. The velcro I used was pretty bad*.

Clipped it to the cd drawer thingy instead of the vent because I felt the vent was more important than the container lid thing.

*I only used the velcro I used because it had the sticky sides. I plan to use the heavy duty one, the kind that's kinda beige-ish looking and superglue it.
