Water is important to human life and the health of the environment. To fulfill the good quality of water required by the people, Existing metering solutions are often manually read by officials, and the information difficult to digest. Moreover, billing information, which serves as feedback, lags consumption by several weeks. Smart meters address many of these challenges by enabling electronic and real-time metering, but are still prohibitively expensive.

In this project, a novel low-cost water flow meter is developed for use in household smart metering solutions. we developed an IoT based water monitoring system for home, offices, and buildings, etc. To design a water monitoring system we measured the flow of water using water flow sensors which are working on Hall effect. We used a flow sensor to detect water leakage in pipelines. By placing this system in a smart building, we will be able to collect and analyze the water usage patterns of the residents and save a lot of water. Also, we will adding new feature in project that can able to control water flow for home, office and building with the help of internet of things. Means if customer is unable to pay the municipal corporation water supply bill the municipal corporation can cut the water supply using an internet of things. Which can help government to control water supply network easily and smart way.
