Inverted Quadcopter

Want to make a different kind of quadcopter? In this 'able, you will learn how! This quad is a lot like the Blade nano QX 3D but smaller. It is a perplexing idea, an inverted quadcopter. The way you do it is by having the control board right side up, and the props the same as the motors are spinning.

Parts and Tools

For the quad itself, you will need-
4x 1/8 x 1/8in balsa square dowels
1 1.5in x 1 x .25 in balsa dowel
4x motors, you choose what you want, but I am using 7mm
A brushed control board, of your choice
Transmitter
Props to fit your motors. I recommend using 3 blade but whatever you have is good
Batteries/battery to fit TX- self explanitory
battery for quad
2-1 prop cages

Tools
CA--AKA superglue
Hot glue gun and sticks
Soldering iron and solder

Soldering and Gluing

Solder wire extensions on the board. If the motors you bought have long leads, ignore this. Black and blue are negative. Red and white are positive. Put a dab of hot glue on one of the arms then push one of the wires into it. For the landing gear, take the prop protector cage and cut it into 4 pieces where it joins together. To glue it on, put a dab of glue on the underside of the arm. Put the circular part in and let it sit. For extra protection, glue another cage part on the top of the arm, so it is right above the motor. This will protect the props for crashes.

Glue, Test and Fly

Now glue the battery, controller, and motors on. When you hot glue the battery and board on, make sure that you let it cool down a little bit so that it doesn't start a fire or mess the board up. Glue the motors on, making sure that they are on straight and are not tilted. Put the props on and check if they are spinning the right way. Test by revving the motors, and correct anything else. By now, you should be ready to fly so good luck and happy flying!
