Inventive Exercise Ideas
Like many of us during this time we have had lots of time on our hands but haven't gotten enough exercise. Exercise is essential for for our mental health and a great way to practice self care
Where I am located it is often very cold so i cant go outside to exercise. my house also isn't big enough for its own home gym or even an exercise bike. I have found some creative ways to exercise that I would like to show you today!
Supplies
for this its really up to you, just use good judgment when choosing an item. For example a winter boot would be a good choice whereas a lamp would not :)
1 anything heavy it doesn't matter how much, i used a winter boot
2 a stopwatch, you can use an app on your phone or just google search "stopwatch"
3 a yoga mat, optional its just more comfortable
Find Your Exercise Location
The first step would be finding a good place to do your workout, This should be at least 7ft by 7ft but exacts dont really matter. I will be doing mine in my bedroom. If it is warm outside where you live you could even consider doing it in your yard, that would be an awesome place!
Warm Up
We will want to warm up before the main section of our workout as it helps to prevent injuries. If you don't know the workout look it up or just feel free to skip it. also if ya wanna stretch out that is highly encouraged
The warm up will consist of sets as follows, feel free to mix, match, or even change the number of reps
5 squats
5 push ups
5 burpees
10 sit ups
repeat 3 times
Main Workout
This workout will take around 10 minutes but feel free to make it longer or shorter. each exercise will take 30 seconds and you will complete them 4 times, the format will be 20 seconds exercise, 10 seconds rest then on every 4th set you will get 30 seconds rest
Start your stopwatch and get right into the first exercise!
1 squats, you will use that object you chose earlier to add some resistance
2 push ups, these are great to get the blood flowing
3 russian twists, use your object as a weight
4 burpees, one more big push your almost to the end!
5 plank, just normal plank to round off the workout
Cooldown
Congrats you have finished your workout! end it with any stretching of your choosing and have a great rest of your day!
