Invader Paper Airplane for POWERUP 4.0
In this project, we’ll build the Invader, a dynamic paper-airplane design engineered specifically for the POWERUP 4.0 Smart Module. The Invader combines a sleek, swept-forward wing shape with excellent stability and control, making it a great choice for both creative builders and performance-focused pilots.
Supplies
1 sheet of standard copier paper
– Size: A4 or 8.5" × 11"
– Weight: 80–100 gsm (20–25 lb)
– Any high-quality copier or printer paper works well.
Clear tape or masking tape
– For securing key folds and attaching the POWERUP 4.0 module.
POWERUP 4.0 Smart Module
– Fully charged and ready for installation.
- Fold the paper in half lengthwise, then unfold to create a center crease.
- Fold the top corners into the center so they meet at the crease and form a point.
Fold the new top corners down along the indicated 45° lines so each point lands on the outer edge of the paper.
Fold the inner diagonal edges outward so they align with the outer edges of the plane.
Fold the top point downward along the indicated line.
Fold the edges of the plane inward along the indicated lines.
Apply tape in the shown locations to secure the layers.
Turn the airplane over.
Fold the plane in half along the existing center crease.
Fold the first wing downward along the indicated wing line.
Turn the airplane over.
Fold the second wing to match the first.
Fold a small wing fin along the outer edge of one wing.
– Make sure the crease runs parallel to the highlighted wing edge.
