The SLO MakerSpace is proud to have a 100 watt laser cutter and engraver for our members to use once they have taken the safety certification course. This machine has a working area of 1000 mm (39.25 inches) wide by 600 mm (23.5 inches) deep, and can accommodate materials up to 30 mm (12 inches) thick.

Our machine is capable of cutting and engraving a variety of materials including wood, MDF, acrylic, leather, cardboard, fabric, paper, glass, and more! Depending on your material's properties, engraving will produce varying effects and cutting will be possible for certain thicknesses of the material. You will need to do some experimentation to learn what settings work best for your project, or you can use our recommended settings for certain materials.
