Quick Workstation I needed badly to debug and power many different internet of things projects. It allows for a full computer to work with coding and researching info as well as a small screen to get the output from various devices to check if they boot up properly.

Includes USB Power / Outlet power / 5V and 12V terminals from the computer power supply.

It also has USB keyboard and mouse with a USB switch to change the keyboard and mouse to control either the main computer screen or device you're working with.

Build Frame

Build frame that will mount the monitor on one side and the computer motherboard and internals will be fastened to the back. The square frame is wide enough to have the monitor on the front and the motherboard on the back to be slightly hidden.

Add Power and Outlets

Using a split wire hookup the power strip to the bottom and have the USB outlets and regular outlets mounted between the bottom monitor support board and the bottom of the case.

Mount Motherboard and Power Supply

on the back of the unit mount the power supply and the motherboard plugging in to the power strip on the bottom.

Glue Monitor to Front

I found the best way is to glue the monitor with construction glue to the front of the unit, else you could use a VESA mount to accomplish with only screws and no glue.

Adding DVD ROM Drives and USB / Storage Peripherals.

on the top of the box make sure there's just enough space to slide in any SATA devices you want, DVD ROM drives, USB front panel boxes etc. Hook them up in the back to the motherboard.

Bring Through the 5V and 12V Connectors

Drill 8 holes to bring through the wiring for the 12 and 5 volt connectors. Using a wire harness you can take a 4 pin peripheral power cable to split it to the voltages to feed through to the front.

Create the Power and Reset Buttons / Add Speakers

I use 5V lighted arcade buttons to allow for the power button and reset buttons to be pressable and lit up. 2 of the connectors are connected to 5V +/- the other 2, the button connectors are connected to the motherboard "front panel" jumpers to allow it to receive a power on or reset button push.

Mount the buttons through the front with 2 holes and connect wires to motherboard in the back.

Add a Small Monitor for the IOT Device HDMI Output. on the Front

it's also glued same as the main monitor.

Finish the Case Exterior

I added plastic trim and corner brackets as well as a handle to move it around in the workspace. I also added a panel on the front bottom with a hinge and eye socket latch. This allows you to have a nice place to place anything for soldering and debugging.
