Instructions in Order to Dye Pasta

How to make pasta for any festive occasion

You Will Need...

1. Pasta

2. A cooking pot

3. zip lock bags or plastic containers

4. food coloring/dye

5. colander

6. salt

7. water

Place 4 to 6 Cups of Water Into the Pot

This will depend on the amount of pasta you are cooking.

Heat Water Until It Begins to Boil

This step usually takes about 10 minutes.

Hint: Add some salt to enhance the flavor of the pasta and benefit the cooking process

Wait Until Water Starts Boiling

Place the Pasta Into the Boiling Water

Cook Your Pasta Until It Is Done

Now...

Choose between using either plastic bags or plastic containers. In our case, we used plastic containers.

Add Approximately 1 Cup of Water to Each Container/plastic Bag

Add Three or Four Drops of Food Coloring to This Container of Water

Now...

place a selected portion of pasta to take on the selected color and place the pasta into the plastic bag or container with the food coloring.

Wait...

Let the pasta absorb the color of the food coloring for about 2 to 3 minutes.

Repeat Steps 6 Through 10 for Any Other Additional Colors Being Added to the Pasta.

Almost There!

Once pasta has taken on the color of the food dye, you will want to rinse the pasta in order to remove any left over food coloring.
