Instructables Robot Candy Dispenser
I made an Instructables robot candy dispenser. All you have to do is push a button on the back of the robot, and candy will come out.
Supplies
You need:
Any 3d design software
A 3d printer
Fillament
A small rubber band
Candy
Draw
Draw your design out on paper.
The Candy Shaft
Measure your candy and design a shaft that the candy will fit through. I used TinkerCAD, but you can use any software that you like
The Dispensing Mechanism
For the dispensing mechanism, I used a rubber band. It works by the rubber band threading through the holes on the button and the base of the dispenser, and then streached around a notch in the base on both sides. I also made an area for the candy shaft to rest in and four prongs so the outer robot part can tightly rest in them.

The Robot Shell
I made the robot look like the Instructables robot, and then I added holes so that the candy can come out, and the button sticks out from the back. I also hollowed it so the dispensing mechanism could fit inside of it.
Extra Detail
For some extra detail, I gave my robot some wheels, a face, and some arms.
Printing
I 3d printed the whole model at 20% infill. The robot shell was the only piece I had to print with support, because it was hollow.
Assembly
For assembly, you attach the button to the base by threading the rubber band through both holes and around the notch on the base on both sides of the rubber band, then glue the face, the arms, and the wheels to the robot. Glue the candy shaft to the base. If you are still having trouble attaching the rubber band button, the pictures above should help.
Dispense!
Fill the candy shaft with candy, and place the robot shell on top of the base, sliding it through the four prongs. Then push the button on the back, and watch your candy come out!
