Instructables Glue Resin Art (without Epoxy)
This is a cool DIY project . I made a glue art of instructables robot, using just glue and paint, without using epoxy resin.
Supplies
- Glue (Fevicol resin adhesive)
- Paper cups
- Plastic spoons
- Sponge sheet or foam sheet
- Paint (any medium. I used acrylic)
Materials
I used synthetic resin adhesive to make this , you can also use any type of glue that combines in the color pigments of the paint well. I also used an instructables sticker from my prize pack for reference. I used a sponge sheet to form a mold for the glue, make sure the glue does not stick to the sheet.
Making the Mold!
Trace the outline of the instructables sticker onto the sponge sheet with a marker or pen.
Now, carefully cut through the outline, to create a mold.
Make sure to leave a layer of sponge sheet beneath and don't cut deeper.
Remove the layer to form a mould.
Mixing the Color!
Take 2 spoons of resin adhesive or glue in a paper cup and add one spoon of water and mix.
Now add paint(yellow, orange, yellow orchid) into the glue and mix well. Make sure not to add too much of color as when the glue dries up, it becomes darker.
Casting the Instructables Resin !
Gently pour the glue mix into the mold (sponge sheet).
Now, spread the glue mix evenly. If there are any air bubble gently poke them with a needle or back of the spoon.(this looks like cheese!!)
Adding the Details!
Now, mix red color and grey in the glue and add the details.
After adding the details, mix black color and drawn the outline . Now time for drying. Let it dry for 24hrs or longer for best results.
Drying!
WAIT for it to dry completely. Let it dry for at least 24hrs before taking it out.
Shaping!!
After completely drying, now we can finally take it out of the mold. Carefully take it out if the mold.
There are flaws in the shape, so trim out the excess in the corners and shape it. The instructables glue resin sticker is now all ready!!!
