Instructables Contest Trophy!

I made my own trophy for the Instructables 3D printing competition!
Supplies

The software used for this trophy is an online 3D cad software called Onshape which you can find here https://www.onshape.com/
Create Base
![step 1.png](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FL3/T7S6/LB5397DD/FL3T7S6LB5397DD.png&filename=step 1.png)
The base of the trophy is created through a loft from a square to a smaller square on a plane offset above.
Create Another Base
![step 2.png](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FCV/K0ZC/LB5397GY/FCVK0ZCLB5397GY.png&filename=step 2.png)
On top of the other base in the center, extrude an octagon shape to create a second base, because one base simply wasn't cool enough.
Create the "3D" Word
![step 3.png](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FF2/UNMS/LB5397Q2/FF2UNMSLB5397Q2.png&filename=step 3.png)
To make the 3D word, I made a sketch using the text tool to make the word and then extruded it.
Create the Silly Little Strings at the Top
![step 4 p4.png](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F5C/G9JM/LB5398RV/F5CG9JMLB5398RV.png&filename=step 4 p4.png)

![step 4 p3.png](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FSZ/7YYI/LB53984X/FSZ7YYILB53984X.png&filename=step 4 p3.png)
Those silly little strings at the top are there to imitate the filament coming out of the 3D printer nozzle and printing out the "3D" word. First, I made two different drawings on different planes offset from the top plane above the "3D" word. The first drawing was a pentagon, and the next was a point. A loft was used to pass from a random face of the 3 to the pentagon and point, making the illusion of the 3 being created from something.
These same steps were done to create the two other strings, which resulted in a lot of planes 😅. If you look closely, you will see that the loft for the string coming out from the bottom of D has it's own sketch at the bottom as a starting point, instead of just some random face.
Connect "3D" Word to the Bottom
![step 5 p1.png](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FDS/0E2G/LB5399AH/FDS0E2GLB5399AH.png&filename=step 5 p1.png)
![step 5 p2.png](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FPN/V639/LB5399AI/FPNV639LB5399AI.png&filename=step 5 p2.png)
I made 3 pentagons on the base and lofted them to random faces of the "3D" word to connect the "3D" word to the bottom.
Add Words
![step 6.png](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FC1/2S02/LB5399FK/FC12S02LB5399FK.png&filename=step 6.png)
Create drawings on the faces of the base and use the text tool to write the words on the trophy. These words are then extruded.
