Installing Your New Vertical Motocycle License Plate on the Custom Bracket You Made.

Previously on instructables... I wrote about the Vertical License plate bracket (one of the most popular instructables I have wrote to date) I made for my Yamaha XS650. A few months later PA passed a law creating vertical MC plates and they were just released. So now I get to be "legal" with my super rad bracket.

Now Lets look at installing the plate.

Step 1

Gather your tools & Supplies!
Drill
Step bits
plate
nus, washers, and bolts (I choose stainless... cheaper than chrome but shouldn't rust)
Wrench and Socket Wrench
and a center punch

Step 2

I don't have a good picture as I don't have three hands... Hold your plate up to the bracket in the position you want it to be mounted.
Then use your spring loaded center punch to mare the center of each hole in the plate.

This is going to do two things for you;
A: Mark where you want to drill holes for mounthing
B: get the drill bit started and not walking all over the place on you.

Step 3

Use your drill and step bits to remove the right amount of metal so you can pass the bolts through to fasten the plate to the bracket.

Step 4

Used you (stainless steel) Bolt, Washer, Lock nut, and nut. to attach the plate.

Step 5

Ride in style, Ride legit, don't get a $70 ticket for "illegal use of license plate" or something like that.
