I recently updated an old outdated thrift store dress into an awesome tunic shirt. From all the cutting I had some extra scraps from the skirt and I wanted to make something more out of it. I loved the pattern on the fabric and didn't want to just throw it out.

From the scraps I was able to make an awesome infinity scarf with the extra fabric I had.

Here is what I used to make my infinity scarf

Skirt scraps - I was able to salvage a piece of fabric about 10" wide and 6' long

Sewing Machine

I started by cutting out the fabric I wanted from the rest of the scraps from the skirt.

I was very careful about cutting around the unwanted scraps so that I didn't cut too much. Since it was scraps and not new fabric I knew that if I messed up I wouldn't be able to re cut anything.

When everything was all said and done I was able to salvage a piece of fabric that was about 10" wide and 6' long.

Sew

Fold the fabric on its length wise with the wrong side of the fabric.

Sew along the raw edge of the fabric all the way down.

Once done flip the fabric right side out.

Attach Ends

After the side is complete I focused on stitching up the ends of the scarf.

I started by folding the raw side of each end over and sewing the ends to give a more clean finish at the end of the scarf

After each end was sewn shut I sewed the two ends together creating the circular infinity scarf.

Finished

After sewing the two ends together my infinity scarf was finished. I was so happy with how the scarf turned out. I love the pattern and the size of the scarf, creating a great statement to any outfit.

Enjoy!
