Infinitely Tileable Dogs

This is an art piece that I recently discovered and I fell in love with. The way the dogs, when on their own, seem like just some doodles, but when assembled, they create a fascinating theme of repetition. I always wanted to have some sort of tileable puzzle that was completely custom, however, i haven't ever been able to do such a thing, until now.

Supplies

For this project, all you will need is a plastic filament of your texture or color of choosing, as well as a 3d printer. You can also have a 3d printer farm print you one if you don't own a 3d printer, but it may cost more.

Download and Set Up

Attached is an stl file of a piece of the dog pattern. You will need to download this and send it to your printer for printing. it is definitely suggested to print multiple dogs, but keep the scale consistent between every piece or the prints wont work. Each piece has a little bit of wiggle room from the other pieces, so that it is not a hassle to put them together (by them, I mean multiple dog prints). If you want a 3d printer farm to make them for you, you will need to contact your 3d printer farm of choice and send them the file, as well as a shipping address, ask them for more details if needed.

Assemble the Parts

When your parts have finished printing, assemble them in the pattern of the image attached. The pieces should fit snuggly together, as long as they are all scaled to the same size before hand. If you have experience with 3d modeling, feel free to customize and texture the models for your own special flare. If you choose to sell these parts for profit, please modify them before hand, as to not be entirely identical. I will not tolerate stolen models being sold for profit, unless modifications aren't too subtle. Have fun with your new tile puzzle, and feel free to comment how yours came out!
