Indoor Water Sound Relaxation

Fountain_test.jpg

Hearing the sound of water calms your mind. I made a simple water fountain using a flowerpot.

Supplies

Fountain_parts.jpg

3D print parts

  • Water nozzle.stl

Electronics

  • Mini Water pump (DC 3-5V)
  • USB connector with wire

Materials

  • Flowerpot (mini size)
  • Water saucer (Depth 30mm or more)
  • Silicone Tubing (Inter diameter: 6mm)
  • Pebbles for cover the nozzle
  • water-resistant adhesive (Maybe even a glue gun)

Design With Tinkercad

Fountain_cutend.jpg

I used tinkercad to create a nozzle that disperses water horizontally. If the outer diameter of the Silicone Tube does not fit, you may want to adjust the design.

Note: Since it was difficult to see the structure just by making the material transparent, I designed it by removing it in half with a square block and looking at the cross section.

Printing With a 3D Printer

The following file can be printed with a 3D printer.

  • Water nozzle.stl

The nozzle is used for invisible areas, so the thickness of the layer should be rough(ex. 0.4mm). Since it is a small part, no support material is required.

Assemble

Fountain_assemble.jpg
  1. Glue the nozzle to the bottom hole of the flowerpot to seal the hole.
  2. Cut the silicon tubing at a length between the pump and nozzle
  3. Connect the silicone tubing to the water pump.

Set the flowerpot in the Water saucer and fill it with water. Place pebbles to hide the nozzle part.

Note: Adjust for too much water and no sound of water.
