Ingredients you will need:

  • Wheat Flour - 1 cup
  • Cauliflower - 1 small
  • Dry Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Red Chilli Powder - A pinch
  • Ajwain / Thymol Seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Garam Masala (a hot spice mixture, usually of ground coriander, cumin, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and pepper, used in Indian cooking) - 1/2 tsp

The very first step of making this dish is grating the cauliflower. Wash the cauliflower properly, to begin with. Then grate the cauliflower such that it is quite fine so that there is no problem in stuffing the mixture later on!

After grating the cauliflower move on to the next step!

Adding Califlower Mixture Ingredients to Pan

Now, we need to make the most important element of this whole dish and that is the flavoured cauliflower mixture that we will be stuffing in the parantha (flatbread). This is important because this is what will give our parantha (flatbread) the taste that it needs.

To begin with, take a little (approx. 2 tsp) oil in a pan and heat it. Then put ajwain (thymol seeds) in it. Then add all the spices that we had earlier taken. Then stir it for a while. Then add the previously grated cauliflower to the pan. Then also add green coriander into the pan.

After this move on to the next step!

After adding all the mixed ingredients into the pan, fry it well for around 5-10 mins till the cauliflower starts to liquefy a little bit. Then lit it cool. Otherwise, the parantha (flatbread) might not come out well!

Meanwhile, let's prepare the dough for our parantha (flatbread)!

Preparing the Dough

Take the wheat flour in a big bowl. With the help of some water, knead the dough and give it a proper consistency! The dough must not be too soft or too hard!

Now, move on to the next step!

Flattening Out the Dough and Adding Mixture

Take some amount of dough and make a small ball out of it by rolling it using your palms. Then flatten it out a little bit (not completely) using a roller pin. Now take 1 tsp of the previously-prepared mixture and put it on the flattened-out dough. Then close the dough and again give it a ball-like shape. You can follow the images above.

After stuffing the mixture, move on to the next step!

Now flatten out the ball of dough stuffed with the cauliflower mixture using a roller pin. Then put the flattened-out stuffed parantha (flatbread) on a Tawa (frying pan) and fry it well on both sides using a spatula.

And there you have your very tasty Gobhi Parantha (Flatbread Stuffed with Flavoured Cauliflower).

This dish can be served with many sides. You can go with any of these:

  • Fresh Yoghurt: You can serve this with fresh yoghurt called Dahi or curd in India. You can also serve it with flavoured yoghurt for a different punch of taste!
  • Chutney: You can also serve this dish with chutney which is an Indian side. You can serve it with coriander chutney which is a sweet n sour mash of fresh coriander leaves.
  • Tomato Ketchup: You can also serve it with tomato ketchup as a side!
  • Butter or Cheese: You can also serve it with some butter or cheese.

And that is it for this recipe. I hope you enjoyed it and if you make it, there is a section "I Made It" down there. Meet me there :)

Thank You
