Improvised Fishing Lure for the Desparate Fishermen

On a trip to Canberra, ACT, Australia, I went to a little river trying to catch some Murray Cods.
Having lost only plastic lure I was desperate to find something and saw those grass spikelets on the river side. By their shape I thought they could work and gave it a try.
I picked one with a stem that is fat enough to stay still once through the hook's eye.
Amazingly I got a hit but snapped the line each time even though the drag was set low, line too thin? But anyway, this could be helpful if you are in a desperate situation :-D
