Making that holiday bread and find that your house is too cold for quick rise? You can solve that with a little trickery.

Supplies

  • Bread In Need Of Rising
  • Sheet Pan Or Other Baking Vessel
  • Lid Or Towel For Covering Sheet Pan Or Other Baking Vessel
  • Wire Rack
  • Heating Pad (or you could also use an electric blanket)

Make Bread Dough

Have a dough that needs a rise? No where to stash it where it's warm? Put your dough in an appropriate vessel and cover it!

Assemble the Setup

  1. Take your wire rack in hand.
  2. Take your heating pad in the other.
  3. Place the heating pad under the wire rack on a counter.
  4. Plug in and turn on your heating pad to low (or higher I guess if it's really cold).
  5. Place your container of dough on the rack!

Rise!!!!!

Let nature and heat take it's course! This little setup has bailed me out several times. This is probably a better use of a heating pad than using it as a heating pad.
