Improved Etrex GPS Bike Cradle

Clip.jpg
I use my old yellow Etrex GPS  when I go biking. It's useful to monitor your trip, speed and elapsed time. But all the systems and cradles I've tried to make for attaching it to the bike (based on plasti ties mainly) were unsatisfactory.
Once, I came across those plastic clips for holding electrical cable tubing and ...I had the inspiration

Get Materials

You will need:
1) some wood for the base (I used white oak cause I liked the grain an the strenght)
2) four plastic cable mounts ("clips")
3) some screws
4) adesive foam (optional)
4)plastic ties

Cut Clips

With a saw or a knife cut  half of the clip. Be sure to let the hole for the screw

Cut a Suitable Piece of Wood

Cut the wood which will be the main structure of the cradle. I choosed white oak, strong and nice

Screw Clips

Screw the clips to the wood, being sure they are at the right distance to accept the Etrex GPS or other instruments

Mount on Handlebar

Put some adesive foam strips to protect the GPS and mount on the bike with plastic ties. Some clips on the handlebar can facilitate task
