Improve the Lifespan of IPod Earphones
This time I won't show you anything fancy , nor properly mandatory , But believe me it will improve the life of the plug from 6.5 months to 2+ years , believe me , it worked so great , I've had this mod since the ridiculously clever dock and have survived so far , (NOTE i removed the old insulation in order to show you this trick , it was a little filthy anyway)
It may not look Stock or Pimped , but , it works!

Slice the Heat Shrink Tubing
cut the 1/2 inch HST in 5mm (about a 1/5 inch) slices
and cut a single 5mm slice of 1/4 Inch HST , and open it by the half (see the third picture)

Get Those Zippos Clickin' and Start Shrinkin'
Slide in a piece of 1/2 inch heat shrink tubing (if you own an iPhone , leave a small gap without HST in order to avoid making it Unplugable )
Turn on your zippo
WITHOUT BURNING IT ! shrink the tubing carefully (I mean CAREFULLY don't let the flame touch the HST or the card , let only the hot air of the flame shrink the tubing , take it with calm)
Repeat this process , using several pieces of heat shrink tubing.
And to cover the smaller Parts , insert the small piece of 1/4 inch HST , and above it , one piece of 1/2 inch piece , heat and shrink
Once you have 2 or 3 layers , you're done , let it cool for 5 minutes
