Image Over Text

In this tutorial I will show you how to put image over text to create a cool image inside text effect.

Supplies

To create this image over text effect you need a graphic design software.

  1. Photoshop or GIMP
  2. Image Inside Text Generator

I will use Photoshop. But, you can use other tools like Photopea, Canva, MockoFun, GIMP, CorelDraw, Inkscape, Figma, etc.

You can also put image over text in Word, PowerPoint and Google Slides.

Open Photoshop

Open Photoshop and create a new document with the size of your choice (File > New).

Place Your Image

First, you have to place your image:

  1. Go to File > Place Embedded...
  2. Choose your image and resize it to cover the canvas.
  3. Press Enter to place it.


Add the Text

The next step is to add your text:

  1. Select the Type Tool (T).
  2. Click on the canvas and type your text.
  3. Choose a bold font for best results (e.g., Impact, Arial Black).
  4. Move the text layer is below the image in the Layers panel. Use drag and drop.


Create Clipping Mask

Now finally, clip the image to the text:

  1. Right-click the image layer.
  2. Choose Create Clipping Mask.
  3. The image now appears inside the text.


Download the Result

Optional, you can add a background or you can download the result as PNG file with transparent background.

If you don't have Photoshop, you can create image inside text online using this free tool. Follow these easy steps:

  1. Open the template
  2. Upload your photo
  3. Choose a font type (bold fonts work the best)
  4. Set the font size
  5. Download the result as PNG
