Iguana
My son always a fan of anything reptilian requested this costume. I bought a bike helmet at a thrift store and built the stuffed headpiece over that I used a light weight textured fabric with a scaly texture and painted white spots across the top and back. Making the mouth open for visibility and adding a noise maker red tongue gave the character a lifelike quality. The under layer is old t-shirt with textured fabric sleeves added. The pants are basic pullup pants with elastic waist from the same fabric The bodice is a separate piece not unlike a turtle shell with a curled tail. There is a wire hanger in the tail to hold the curl. The hands are gloves of the same fabric. The feet were constructed like slippers. For added effect I glued on dollar store plastic bugs.
