Igloo Making Tool
This Igloo Maker is a fun tool that is meant as a guide to easily construct an igloo. In this, I will walk you through the 3 simple steps to make one for yourself.
Supplies
1x Threaded Broomstick
6ft of 3/4in. Lumber
4-6 Heavy Duty Wood Screws
A lotta Snow
Cutting Wood
Cut the wood into 3 (4 optional) pieces with 2 pieces measuring 14in. and one measuring 6in. Try to keep the edges as flat as possible.
Assembling Wood
Drill 4 pilot holes ~1/2 away from the corner edges of the smaller piece. Then, drill pilot holes into the longer pieces on their short sides in the corresponding place to the pilot holes on the small piece. Finally, drive in the screws through the pilot holes, securing the 3 pieces together.
Attaching Handle
Using a large drill bit that matches the inner diameter of the threads of the broomstick, (in my case, 1/2in.) drill into the middle of the broadside of either of the larger pieces. Then, slowly turn the broomstick threads into the hole until the broom is flush with the board.
Ejoy!
First ensure that the screws and broomstick are firmly secured. Then, to use, clear out a large section of snow and place the end of the handle in the center of it. Then, lay the tool down so that the head of the tool lays flat against the ground. Pack the tool tightly with snow before shifting the head of the tool to the left/right while keeping the end of the handle planted firmly in the center. Once one level has been finished, move the head of the tool on top of the last level and continue on from there until you have an entire igloo! If you are struggling, there are several products on the market that currently do something similar to this tool so it would be fairly easy to find examples of how these tools are used online.
