Beer cooling shouldn't be left to guess work, especially when you want to cool beer fast. Taking a scientific approach enables progress to be made as one's endeavours can be built on top of previous research.

In a prevous instructable it was shown how to cool beer using cold salt water:

* Cooling beer fast in salt water used this technique, a beer can was cooled in 6 minutes.

* Cooling Beer while Camping rotated a beer can on a block of ice, using a sucker glued onto a stick.

Both these techniques are very good at cooling beer quickly - cold salt water is super cold, beer rotation gets to chill the beer all the way through from edge to be centre.

So now is time to ‘turn the knob up to 11’ by combining these two great methods and rotate beer in super cold water. The unique aspect in this instructable is how the beer can is rotated automatically.

Supplies

Can of Beer

Electric Eraser

Dowel

Sucker

Container

Hot Glue gun

The Beverage Can Technology described in this instructable makes use of a battery power eraser:

The Elecric eraser is attached to a 'sucker':

  • Remove the rubber tip
  • Insert a short lenght of wooden dowel
  • Glue the other end onto the sucker, using a hot glue gun.

Cool a beverage can from 25c to 3c in two and a half minutes by:

  • Connecting the device to the bottom of a can using the sucker.
  • Placing the can into a container containing saturated cold salt water of minus 11c (or less) - which has come out of a Freezer.
  • Turning the rotating device on, this will cause the can in the salt water to rotate.
  • Removing can after 2 & 1/2 minutes.
  • Rinsing the can under cold water.

If you get ice forming on the inside of the beer can, just shorten the time the can is rotated in the super cold water to say 2 minutes.
