First, you start with a paint can. I used a brand new empty one but if you dont have one like that you can just find an old paint can and clean it out on the inside. Also, you will need to remove the handle on the can. If this is not possible, dont worry.

Now you have to make the cover for the can. Measure the height of the can and cut a piece of paper, wrapping paper or whatever you have to size. You can also paint the outside but it might take a long time depending on how shiny the can is. If you want to paint the can I suggest you skip to step 4.

Now you need to wrap the paper or any other material you are using around the can. On my can, there were little pieces on the side to hold the handle so i had to make a hole for them. As you can see in the first picture, I cut a notch out of the paper and then when I had wrapped it completley around, I did the same thing again. Doing this will create a hole for the piece on the side.

Now you have to put the handle on the can again. I patched up the areas where the metal was showing with some more paper.

If you are worried that your can might still be dirty you can just take some foil and line the can with it.
