Ibá Pendant Light

PENDENTE IBÁ 001.jpg
PENDENTE IBÁ 02.jpg

Ibá is an indigenous word from Tupi language that means: FRUIT.

I created this pendant to play with the lights and shadows in the enviroments, bringing a little drawing with Brazilianness.

Design 3D Model

01_.jpg

First, I defined the maximum size i would like to work with. And its format with the vertical axis of symmetry.

With the Fusion360 software, i created the 3D modeling.

Slicing 3D Model

Then, i sliced the 3D model in two directions: Horizontal (X-axis) and vertical (Z-axis) considering the thickness of the material to be cut. (In this case 3mm MDF Wood).

Flattening the 3D Model ----> 2D Model

With all parts defined and flattened, i was able to export the 3D model to a 2D file - considering only the vectorized lines.

Cutting, Fitting and Assembling

Then it was time to export the pieces to a Laser Cutter... to cut the pieces individually.

After cutting all the pieces, i started fitting them, following the named order.

Customize and Create the Electrical Installation

Finally, you can create the eletrical circuit and add E27 lamp of your choice.

You will be able to customize your pendant painting it in a different color, changing the color of the lamp, or even placing an RGB LED lamp.

Enjoy It !

I hope you like it. Thanks

It's my first instructable. See you soon !
