ISRO Gaganyaan on Tinkercad
Hello! This is my very first instructable. This is instructable is about how I made a rocket step by step. I have named it ISRO Gaganyaan since I love ISRO and I just tried to predict what their future rocket Gaganyaan will look like with this design. After completion, it should like the third picture. This rocket is a mashup of my love for rockets and ISRO. I would also like to request you to view the images on full screen.

Getting Started
First, I took out a cylinder and a paraboloid. I set the length and breadth of the cylinder to 19.17 mm and 18.40 mm. The height was 86.34 mm. The paraboloid was set on the same length and breadth. Then I set the height on 23.70 mm, place the paraboloid on the cylinder and grouped the two shapes. It wasn't necessary that the shapes had to be neat. I will cover these lines later
Making the Engines and the Boosters
After this, I duplicated the cylinder only and changed the colour of the shape to White. Also, I set the length and breadth of the shape to 15 mm on each side. After this, I took a new paraboloid and set the length and breadth to 15 mm. The height was 30 mm. Later, I two cones and set their length and breadth to 20 mm on each side. Next, I took two paraboloids and set it to 12 mm on each side. I set the height of the cone to 16.74 mm. Also, I set the height of the paraboloid to 12 mm. The next step was a bit tricky. Firstly, I merged the two shapes as given in the above picture. Put the cones below the white shape like the third picture. After this was done, the two shapes looked like the third picture. The last thing I did is to raise the orange engine to a height of 25 mm above the surface. It was very necessary that I centre aligned the rocket.
Decorating the Engines and Boosters
The engines and the boosters look pretty plain to me. Don't they? Let's design them. This step will also cover up the extra lines that will make our project look a bit less shabby. First, I took a tube. Then, set the length and breadth to 18.77 mm and 19.39 mm and the height was 1 mm. After doing this step I coloured it yellow and placed the shape on the spot where the paraboloid and cylinder meet. This step was to be done on the orange engine. It looked like the second image. Now, this step was a little tricky. I duplicated the tube two times and increase the length and breadth by just a nudge. Also, I placed the tubes on the orange engine as shown in the third image. Now, I will decorate the boosters. The steps are mostly the same as before. I took a black tube and set the height to 1.12 mm. Now, I followed the same steps as I did for the orange engine. The only difference was that I did not have to change the dimensions. I did the same on both of the white boosters. After the completion of this step, the boosters and engine looked like the fifth image. The sixth and seventh images were for the optional step.es and increase the length and breadth by just a nudge. The sixth and seventh images were for the optional step.
AN OPTIONAL STEP
I made a copy of the ends of the boosters. Then converted the dimensions of the shapes such that they are smaller than the original. The next thing I did was to convert them into a hole, place them below the original shapes and cut out a hole. Now the rocket looked a bit realistic. It looked like the seventh image.
Starting to Design the Spaceship
Phew! I am finally done with the engine and boosters. Now I can finally start building the spaceship. This was the fun part. First, I took a cylinder from the basic shape's section. The length and breadth are 9 mm on all sides. I set the height to 50 mm. After that, I took a paraboloid and set the length and breadth to 7.83 mm and 9 mm and height to 50 mm. Then I put it on the top of the cylinder. Well, there was something wrong here? The paraboloid was not covering the entire cylinder. That's because there was yet another paraboloid to go there. The length and breadth were the same as the previous paraboloid but the height was 8.18 mm. I placed the paraboloid on top of the cylinder on the opposite side. This was a tricky thing to do. After the completion of this step, it looked like the 4th image. Now it looks like half the spaceship I wanted to design.
OPTIONAL STEP
I covered the part where two paraboloids and the cylinders meet ( image 5 ) as it looks good.
Making the Spaceship Look Realistic
In this step, I was going to make the windshield. Firstly I took a torus from the basic shapes section. Making this shape was be a bit tougher than a normal shape. I set the radius to 14.5. The tube was at 10. There are 16 sides and 24 steps. After completing these steps, then only could I set the dimensions. The length and breadth were 7 mm and 2 mm. The height was 10 mm. The shape looked like the first image. Then I had to place the shape in such a way on the two paraboloids such that it looked like the second image.
Designing the Boosters and Thrusters of the Ship
In this step, I added the boosters and thrusters to the spaceship. Firstly, I took a cylinder of length and breadth 8 mm on all sides. The height was 12 mm. Now, I took a half-sphere and set it to the length and breadth the same as the cylinder but the height was 5 mm. Then I grouped the two shapes like the third image in white colour. Also, I had to make sure that there are no extra lines as I cannot cover them up. Duplicate the shape and keep it aside for future purposes. Now, I also had to create the thrusters of the ship. This was extremely easy. First, I took a cone and cut the top of it. The length and breadth of the cone are 4.26 mm and 4.63.(image 3) Then, I make a hole inside of it using the same cone. (image 4) After I was done I made three copies of the following and stuck all of them at the end of the spaceship. (image 5)
Designing the Vertical Stabilizer for the Spaceship
Now, I will make a vertical stabilizer. This one was a bit tricky. I needed one cuboid and three wedges. The length and breadth of the cuboid were 1 mm and 16.62 mm. The breadth of all the three wedges was 1 mm. The length of the wedge was:
1st wedge = 18.46 mm
2nd wedge = 3.69 mm
3rd Wedge = 20.31 mm
Then I placed all these shapes with the largest wedge on top. The cuboid below that and the smallest wedge at the end of the cuboid. Also, I placed the thin edge below the cuboid in an upside-down position. After completion, the shape looked like the seventh image. I placed it at the back of the spaceship at the height of 8mm. (image 8)
Designing the Wings
This was the toughest part of the entire project. Firstly, I took a cube and set the dimensions to 48.63 mm and 1.50 mm. Then, I made another cube of length and breadth, 53.13 mm and 5 mm. This shape was a hole. I bent it 45 degrees, placed it just like the 1st image and grouped them. Then I took two cubes. The dimensions were:
1) 35.74 mm and 5 mm
2) 37.73 mm and 5 mm
The first cube was bent at six degrees and was placed like the 2nd image. The third cube was bent at six degrees and placed like the third image. After that, I had a very good looking wing but I also had to make the wing smaller as it won't fit the spaceship. For that, I placed a cube just like the fourth image. The cube's dimensions were 20 mm and 5 mm. When I grouped the two shapes, I finally made a wing. After that, all I had to do was to duplicate the wing and place both of them on the spaceship. After that, I placed the white boosters on the spaceship. The most fun thing I did was to place the spaceship on the extra boosters. (Image 6)
Decorating the Spaceship
Wait. The designs are still left! Well, since I live in India and a huge fan of ISRO I will make an Indian flag and will put the logo of ISRO. I will put the logo of ISRO on the rocket using curved text. Now, we are finally done!
