The IR-300 irrigation droid is a testament to Imperial engineering, specifically designed for agricultural efficiency on agri-planets throughout the galaxy. These towering workhorses tirelessly irrigate and apply pesticides across thousands of hectares, transforming barren landscapes into lush, productive farmland with unmatched efficiency.

Equipped with a large tank that can carry water, pesticides, or any necessary treatment, the IR-300 is built for sustained, autonomous operation. With appropriate charging and refilling stations, these droids can function independently, making them ideal for large-scale farming operations.

The IR-300 operates with unwavering determination, with an almost obsessive commitment to irrigation. While it may not engage in small talk or exhibit multifunctional capabilities, it excels at its task with unmatched performance and dedication.

Design Details:

The IR-300 irrigation droid draws inspiration from a piece of real-life machinery (with an Aurebesh label on the back as a subtle hint). I actually designed this droid to become a fun, custom automatic plant watering device. The model is built at 1:10 scale, imagining the actual droid to be approximately 10 feet tall.

Some key features of the design include a servo motor that fits in the body, allowing the head to be actuated for added effect. The tank is actually just an emptied and cleaned peanut butter jar, dressed up with some accessories. The side panels on the droid’s head are removable, providing access to the head cavity where a microcontroller will operate the miniature pump, lights, and servo.

The larger components of the droid are connected with M3 and M4 screws, while the accessories can be glued on. The legs are adjustable to enable posing. The left and right legs, as well as the head side panels, are perfectly symmetrical, reducing the total number of unique components necessary to build the model.
