IPAD MINI MINIMOOG STYLED CONTROLLER
I always wanted to make some sort of synth styled controller for my iPad synths and use a monotrons filter in the output.
This Instructable will be about how to build a minimoog styled iPad-mini controller.
CORE COMPONENTS
- a lot of wooden profiles
- an akai lpd 25 keayboard
- a Korg Monotron (if you want to have an MS 20 LP in the output, and i bet you want that)
- a powered USB hub
Take a look at the photos for more details, one is a 1:1 drawing how i wanted it to look.
WOODWORK
First things first, so i bought a lot of wooden profiles, and a wooden baseplate.
After i took some measurements on the AKAI keyboard, i decided to rip it apart, oposed from building it into its.
So i took a saw and freed the keys from plastic.
Take a look at the photos to see the profiles and how they fit the keyboard.
THE DOCK
As i wanted (but never did) to use a small soundcard to get symmetrical outs, i used a USB-hub to power the soundcard.
If you dont want to do this, you dont need the hub, so all you gotta do is fit a lightning to USB cable into the box, and connect that to the keyboard.
