ILamp

This is a great project turning your old iMac G4 into a design desk lamp. Inspired by a few other projects I tried to make the construction as easy as possible without the need for rare custom parts.
As you might know.. The iMac G4 is an all-in-one personal computer designed, manufactured, and sold by Apple Computer, Inc. from January 2002 to August 2004.
Disassemble Your IMac G4

Just completely disassemble your iMac and throw away everything you do not need. All parts are of great quality and you wonder if Apple could make a healthy margin on this iMac. Please keep the motherboard, although not necessary needed it adds something special to your iLamp.
Build Your ILamp

It is very obvious how the parts should be connected. You need to drill some holes to connect the swivel arm, for this job a column drill might be the best choice. The greatest challenge is connecting the iMac shelf to the swivel arm. For this, I used some metal strip with holes that can bend but is tight enough to hold the lampshade into position. The pictures show how the construction was made. As you'll notice I did not remove the motherboard.
Have fun creating your own very nice looking iLamp...
